CHINT Global Levels up Village Life in Malaysia

APRIL 1, 2024

For over 20 years, Kg. Orang Asli Woh Intake, Tapah, had remained in darkness, devoid of electricity. In 2019, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Institut Latihan Perindustrian (ILP) Kepala Batas, Penang and Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad decided to illuminates the village and upgrades their life by contributed 4kWp solar PV systems to generate electricity, which has brought up lights and hopes to the villagers.

The expansion of families and housing within the Orang Asli village over the past five years underscores the growing need for additional electricity and lighting to support the community’s wellbeing and quality of life. As the population increases, so do the demands on the existing solar PV system, necessitating upgrades and maintenance to meet the evolving needs of the villagers. In response to this pressing challenge, the implementation of the “Projek Penyelenggaraan & Naik Taraf Sistem Solar PV di Kg. Orang Asli Woh Intake, Tapah” represents a proactive step towards ensuring sustainable access to electricity for the entire village.

In a transformative Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, CHINT Malaysia, and collaboration with UTM and (ILP) Kepala Batas, with a vision to empower communities and enhance living standards, CHINT Malaysia has contributed comprehensive 5kWp solar PV system, alongside providing essential electrical components such as breakers, switches, and sockets. Additionally, household appliances such as fans and lamps were distributed, to ensure that the electrical infrastructure facilities in the village can function perfectly. On the other hand, CHINT Malaysia is committed to the villagers’ welfare by giving out groceries to support the families, as well as preparation for Ramadan.

Align with CHINT objective, ‘Lighting The Way This Ramadan’, CHINT Malaysia levels up the villagers quality of life through the providing of essential resources for Ramadan. By offering sustainable energy solutions, CHINT not only brightens physical spaces but also fosters a sense of comfort and connection, for the community during the holy fasting month.
